I Saw The Light ~ A Four Chord Song

I Saw The Light

D D7
I wandered so aimless life filled with sin
  G D
I wouldn't let my dear Savior in

Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
                A7 D
Praise the Lord I saw the light

                               D7
I saw the light I saw the light
G D
No more darkness no more night

Now I'm so happy no sorrow in sight
                A7 D
Praise the Lord I saw the light

                                      D7
Just like a blind man I wandered along
G D
Worries and fears I claimed for my own

Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
                A7 D
Praise the Lord I saw the light

repeat #2
                                D7
I was a fool to wander and stray
G D
Straight is the gate and narrow the way

Now I have traded the wrong for the right
                A7 D
Praise the Lord I saw the light

  1. Connie, I don't have a guitar but when I saw this song, I immediately started singing it! This song is from my younger church days at THE HIGHWAY OF HOLINESS CHURCH! We sang that song many times and I remember it well! You have put a song in my heart and a smile on my face memory! I hope to sing this in my mind when I fall asleep tonight! from one sweetie to another~~~~Roxie p.s. I no longer attend that church now, but it was my foundation in CHRIST for where I am today

    1. Hi Roxie, I am delighted that I could put this song in your heart for the day. It is a great song . . . I love playing it . . . it lifts saddened hearts and I always look out and see a lot of folks singing along. :)
I always enjoy your visiting and with each visit, I feel that I know "Sweet Roxie" a little better.
      Have a joyful day,
      Your blogging sister, Connie :)
