Crystal Chandeliers ~ A Three Chord Song

Crystal Chandeliers
Recorded by Charlie Pride

D A7
All the crystal chandeliers light up the paintings on your wall
                                   D
The marble statuettes are standing stately in the hall
                                                              G
But will the timely crowd that has you laughing loud help you dry your tears
         D A7 D
When the new wears off of your crystal chandeliers

                                A7
I never did fit in too well with folks you knew
                                                 D
And it's plain to see that the likes of me don't fit with you
                                       G
So you traded me for the gaiety of the well to do
        D A7 D
And you turned a way from the love I offered you

Repeat #1

                                    A7
I see your picture in the news most everyday
                                                   D
You're the chosen girl of the social world so the stories say
                       D G
But a paper smile only last awhile then it fades away
        D A7 D
And the love we knew will come home to you some day

Repeat #1

  1. I love Charlie Pride. I saw him perform when he was first starting out and was traveling with Ronnie Milsap.

    1. Hi Beth, I'm happy that I could spark that memory. That must have been in the late 60's or early 70's.
I am delighted that you are following this blog . . . keep a song in your heart, Connie :)

    1. Hello, it is so good to hear from you. When ever I do not remember a song, I visit YOU TUBE. It has become a marvelous place to hear melodies. Have a great day, Connie :)

  3. I'm behind in the blogging world and it looks like I've missed a few posts. For some reason I couldn't find the button on your other blog, to get to this blog. I was afraid you removed it! I am still hanging in there with guitar lessons and practicing every chance I get. I get frustrated but I'm loving it! I told my teacher, I'm coming for lessons even on the weeks I have no time to practice because if I start to cancel, then I'll end up quitting. I am NOT quitting!
