Amazing Grace
D G D
Amazing grace how sweet
the sound
A7
That saved a wretch like
me
D G D
I once was lost but now
I'm found
A7 D
Was blind but now I see
G D
'Twas grace that taught
my heart to fear
A7
And grace my fears
relieved
D G D
How precious did that
grace appear
A7 D
The hour I first believed
G D
Through many dangers
toils and snares
A7
We have already come
D
G D
It was Grace that brought
us safe thus far
A7 D
And Grace will bring us
home
repeat #1
G D
We've all been here ten
thousand years
A7
Bright shining like the
sun
D G D
We've no less days to
sing God's praise
A7 D
Than when we first begun
"Keep a Song in our Heart"
My wife sings this to the tune of house of the rising sun and it fits. I like this version as it is easier to play.
ReplyDeleteIf I can get Steve to play along with me, he does some great picking to The House of the Rising Sun (or at least he did before he stashed his guitar in the closet). Actually last night he picked it up and played with me for about 15 minutes. It's a start. I'm so happy that I took it out of his closet and set it up. I can not wait to see how this sounds. Thanks so much for sharing. I have really been enjoying getting to know you and your wife better through our comments and replies. It's nice to have a more personal touch with my blog-land friends.
DeleteHave a wonderful day, Connie :)
Connie,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to stumble upon your site. I am attempting to teach myself how to play my 6 string, and I could use all the help that I can get. I decided to start with Amazing Grace. I' am not sure about the strumming, is there a certain strumming pattern that I'm supposed to use? Any advise would help :) I also wanted to say that your reference to John Denver jumped out at me! I just love his music and miss him.
Good Bless -- Michele
